JACK IS THE LYNCH PIN AS CONS TURN ON THE STYLE

A  GOOD NIGHT for JACK LYNCH of MATLOCK CONS

MATLOCK CONS celebrated the return of the first full fixture list since before Christmas in the J K Interiors and Joinery Services Snooker League with a 4-1 home win over Matlock Club which lifted them off the bottom of the table.
Keith Manlove took the opener for the visitors with a 56-54 win on the black but Charlie Hodgkinson quickly levelled matters with his third win in four appearances.
Jack Lynch, having qualified for the quarter finals of the Open Individual Handicap prior to the league game, continued that run of form to make it 2-1 and then Chris Parker (24 break) took both his singles and doubles frames (the latter with Lynch) to decide the issue.

With Alfreton Palmer Morewood claiming the full points from their trip to Edgefold No 2 with the home team not in attendance seemingly unaware of the fixture, there were a trio of tight verdicts in the remainder of the games.

Belper Strutt No 1's 3-2 win at Bolehill Institute No 2 moved them into second place and was also their eighth victory on the trot. Steve Bullock and Paul Jarrett were the mainstays as they won both their singles and doubles frames while Ian Peacock top scored for the vanquished.

There was an identical score as Strutt No 2 edged past Bolehill No 1 with Chris Stubbs and Justin Weller undefeated on the night in singles and doubles after Colin Marchington had took the opener for the visitors on a re-spotted black.

And league leaders Edgefold No 1 went 3-0 up at Jaxx Q Club with Andy Russell's run of 66 taking him to the top of the breaks chart before Tim Maslin was instrumental in  reducing the verdict to just the minimum margin.
Russell was also in superb form in the OMYA Cup individual event, notching breaks of 66, 54 and 38 in just two frames to progress to the semi finals.
