EDGEFOLD 2 CLOSE GAP ON DEFEATED LEAGUE LEADERS

IAN PEACOCK's openeing salvo for Bolehill No 2 couldn't put Edgefold 2 out of their stride
EDGEFOLD No 2 moved into third place in the Ashford Arms Premier League with a 3-2 home win over Bolehill No 2 thanks in large part to T & M Motors Player of the Week Sean Dobney who notched a 47 break in his singles frame and then teamed up with Tom Chambers to take the decisive doubles leg.
Ian Peacock (24 break) had earlier given the visitors an early advantage with a 78-49 success before Tom Chambers equalised with a comfortable reposte in the next.
In between the Dobney magic, Kevin Munnelly kept his team in the game with a 45-13 verdict but in the end the title chasers held sway.
Leaders Belper Strutt Club are a couple of points to the good despite falling 3-2 at Bolehill No 1. Ricki Slack took the opener on the black and then teamed up with Ian Birks in the deciding doubles leg as the pair notched runs of 24 and 35 respectively.
Mark Newby was top points scorer for the league leaders.
And in the other game to be played, Matlock Club just had the better of Crich Comrades 3-2. Paul Holmes and Keith Manlove did the business in the concluding doubles frame after the two Adys, Lowe and Smith had brought the Tramway men level.
