No 1 TEAM WIN EDGEFOLD DERBY MATCH TO GO SECOND

DUNCAN HARWOOD put EDGEFOLD No 1 ahead
WEEK three of the Joinery Joint Snooker League saw the two Edgefold teams clash on Dale Road and the No 1 team kept in touch with the leaders with a 4-1 defeat of the No 2 squad on Edge Road.
Duncan Harwood got the ball rolling in the opener with a 68-24 success before Rob Muxlow maintained the momentum defeating last seasons player of the year Rob Dickin 76-43, courtesy of a 28 break.
Sam Lavelle reduced the deficit in the next but Andy Russell (29 break) took his singles and the final doubles frame, partnering Muxlow, to ensure a healthy result.

Bolehill No 1 maintained the pace at the top with their own 4-1 win over last season's champs Belper Strutt Club.
Steve Bullock put the visitors ahead with a convincing 57-19 scoreline but from thereon in, the home team assumed control with three narrow frame margins before Ricki Slack and Mark Gwynne-Jones scored a more convincing verdict in the concluding doubles frame.

Matlock Golf Club repeated last week's win over Bolehill No 2 this time with 15 reds, having defeated them in the six red cup group stages previously.
Graham Jones top scored in a 4-1 triumph, though Ian Peacock and Keith Robertson took the concluding doubles frame to avoid the whitewash.

Matlock Club came away from Alfreton Palmer Morewood No 2 with a 3-2 success, with Paul Bryan notching the decisive third frame though Tom Broughton was in excellent nick for the hosts, with breaks of 35, 30 and 25 during the evening.
