THE League held the 2014 Annual General Meeting on Thursday July 24th at Matlock Conservative Club.
Present were Ricki Slack (Bolehill Inst); Jim McCann (Whitworth Inst); Robert Lowe (Tansley Potters); Charlie Hodgkinson and Richard Deakin (Matlock Cons); Dave Pownall (Belper Strutt Club/Quarndon), Martyn Taylor and Rob Dickin (Edgefold Club Matlock) and Jamie Rowland (Alfreton Palmer Morewood Club).
Apologies for non attendance were received from Sean O'Sullivan and Steve Hawkins (Hartington RBL), Steve Bullock and Dave Needham (Belper Strutt Club) and Scott Simcox (Jaxx Q Club Belper).
Minutes of the last AGM were read and signed.
Matters arising coming out of that were that Jim McCann confirmed Elliott Carpets would again be sponsoring the Billiards League and Jamie Rowland confirmed he would like to sponsor the Snooker League for the forthcoming season with his business J K Interiors and Joinery Services.
Ricki reported that Nigel Bond had been pleased to accept the role of Patron following in the footsteps of his late father Graham.
The balance sheet was presented showing we had made a minor profit for the year (when taking into account delayed honorarium payments to Jim McCann) though we tried to put most of it back into the playing side so all teams got value for money.
Again Ricki Slack took slightly less than the full honorarium agreed in order that prize money remained unaffected with fewer teams playing snooker than in previous years.
Proposed Jim McCann and seconded Charlie Hodgkinson that the balance sheet be accepted and Jim also proposed a vote of thanks for the work during the year of the General Secretary/Treasurer which was seconded by Robert Lowe.
All officials proposed to be elected as per last season en bloc by Charlie Hodgkinson, this was seconded by Dave Pownall and carried unanimously.
Honorariums were agreed to remain as per last season.
No proposals for rule amendments or additions were received.
Snooker entry forms were distributed to those attending and the rest will be emailed or posted within the following week (also available in downloads, see right hand column).
With more teams expressing an interest for the forthcoming season, Ricki said if all came forward by the next meeting that we could most likely hold the Registration Fees to £10 per team along with the usual match fees.
2014/15 Snooker Registration Meeting to be held Thursday, August 28th (7.45pm) at Matlock Conservative Club and the Billiards equivalent to be held earlier in the same week (date/venue to be confirmed).
There being no other business, meeting closed at 8.40pm.
