ALL TO PLAY FOR GOING INTO LAST ROUND OF MATCHES
A THRILLING finish to A Division is in prospect as the gap between the top two teams closed to just one point following the penultimate round of matches in the regular league season.
Second placed Bolehill Institute No 1 were in need of a big win against Matlock Club and they managed to gain a 4-1 verdict with Colin Marchington top scoring with 84 points.
Ian Rose's 22 clearance ensured the visitors didn't go home totally empty handed though.
In the meantime leaders PJ'z Club No 1 of Ripley succumbed 3-2 at home to Belper Strutt Club No 1.
Wayne Shooter amassed 99 points in the opening frame and although Andrew Gratton fought back with a 39 break during his win, Paul Jarrett and Steve Bullock duly made the game safe for the visitors.
Bolehill Institute No 3 retained their provisional placing in the end of season play offs with a 3-2 win at Matlock's Edgefold Club. Dwayne Martin and Keith Robertson won both frames they contested whilst Martyn Taylor was back in fine form for the hosts with breaks of 35 and 22.
In B Division, Matlock Golf Club moved five points clear with a 4-1 success at Belper Strutt Club No 2. Graham Jones' black ball success in the third frame was pivotal as he and Ian McKay won their singles and doubles matches after Dave Needham's opening salvo for the hosts.
Nearest rivals Jaxx Q Club Belper No 1 were inactive but their No 2 team scored an excellent 4-1 triumph as they entertained PJ'z Ripley No 2.
Adam Ballard was top scorer with 80 points as he and Alan Scrivener opened their individual accounts for the season in great style though the Whiteman brothers Mick and Karl avoided the whitewash in the concluding doubles frame.

LATEST COMPETITION DRAWS AND SCHEDULED DATES
THE draws for the semi finals of the remaining competitions were made recently at Bolehill Institute. Balls were pulled out by Keith Robertson, Dwayne Martin and Ricki Slack (but not necessarily in that order!).
All advertised venues for semi finals/finals are provisional at the moment as some need to be confirmed; any players involved can contact me on 07890 985830 if any of the dates are not suitable.
Any changes will be communicated to the players involved.
If someone doesn't contact anyone with prior notice and then fails to show, they are expunged obviously.
All hosting clubs will have staged a minimum of 2 semi finals or finals as it stands (barring alterations).
