CRICH ARE BACK IN CLOVER AFTER THIRTY YEARS AWAY

ADE SMITH played a captains knock for CRICH COMRADES
CRICH COMRADES romped to their first win in this seasons Ashford Arms Premier Division with a 4-1 verdict at Bolehill No 2 following their return to the fold after almost thirty years away.
Ady Lowe took the opener before after Keith Robertson equalised for the home team by taking his frame on the pink.
However, captain Ade Smith took this week's T & M Motors Player of the Week award by defeating Ian Peacock on the black and then filling in again as reserve to defy the obligatory points penalty to make it 3-1 with their usual fourth player unavailable on the night.
And after a tight battle in the doubles leg, it was Cliff Gould, partnered by Lowe, who sunk the deciding black to chalk up a historic victory.

Edgefold No 1 defeated Alfreton Palmer Morewood 3-2 on the final black in the doubles from 2-0 down with Duncan Harwood and Jason Ankers doing the business after Rob Muxlow had top scored.
Ryan Taylor and Derek Smith had made the early running for the visitors.

Elsewhere, Matlock Golf Club also triumphed by the minimum margin against Edgefold No 2 with Charlie Hodgkinson top scoring whilst Sean Dobney was in fine form in both singles and doubles for the away team.

And Belper Strutt Club also won 3-2 as they overcame Matlock Club on Campbell Street. Graeme Wood put the visitors ahead but a strong performance from Wayne Shooter set the tone for a hard fought home win.
