ALL CHANGE AT THE TOP AS ALFRETON REACH SUMMIT

IAN PEACOCK ... clip into the middle pocket completed the whitewash for BOLEHILL No 2
IT WAS SWINGS and roundabouts at the top of the Harriots Sweet Chariot Event Planning League as two matches involving challenging teams with close frames had contrasting outcomes leaving Belper Strutt Club and Alfreton Palmer Morewood level at the top of the table with two games remaining.
Both teams have the same number of wins but Alfreton hold the deciding advantage from head to head meetings if the situation remains unchanged.

Erstwhile leaders Bolehill No 1 came unstuck at the hands of their own No 2 team who avenged a recent 4-0 defeat in the Six Red cup final in emphatic fashion with a complete reversal in fortunes.
Mark Sayer scored a fine 62-21 win in the opener and despite all the remaining frames being decided on pink or black, they all went the way of the No 2 outfit with Ian Peacock finishing the job with a fine cut in the middle pocket for the whitewash.

There were also four frames decided on the last two balls at Matlock Club, but this time Alfreton Palmer Morewood took maximum points to power to the top of the table.
Simon Mayes edged the opener on the black while Kevin Rowland kept up the pressure for the title of player with most wins with his 14th victory in 17 outings.

Belper Strutt Club remained on terms thanks to a 3-2 verdict over Matlock Golf Club. Graham Jones had the visitors ahead but Paul Jarrett and Steve Bullock took each of their singles and doubles frames to ensure victory.

In the battle of the Edgefold teams, the No 1 cuemen triumphed 3-2 with Rob Muxlow (two 25 breaks earning him the Viva Restaurant weekly accolade) in fine form while Tom Chambers top scored for the vanquished to earn himself Mick Hodgkinson Transport player of the week.

Bolehill No 1 entertained Belper Strutt Club in this weeks big clash and the hosts engineered a 3-2 victory to edge a point ahead at the summit.
Mark Gwynne-Jones was in stupendous form in the opener, notching two runs of 24 and proving unstoppable around the black spot as he stormed to a 74-2 margin success, in the process becoming the Mick Hodgkinson Transport player of the week.
Ricki Slack increased this shortly afterwards as he clipped home a thin black from range to edge a tight battle with the league's No 1 ranked player Ben Monk 58-45.
Paul Jarrett cut the deficit to just one with a fine potting display but Ian Birks made the game safe by inflicting the first defeat of the season on Justin Weller 58-46.

Alfreton Palmer Morewood and Edgefold No 1 each kept up the pressure just below with impressive 4-1 scorelines.
