GOLF CLUB AND BOLEHILL 1 NARROW GAP ON COMRADES

TONY BLANT took both his singles and doubles leg for the Golfers
MATLOCK GOLF CLUB captitalised on a defeat for the T&M Motors Snooker League leaders Crich Comrades with a 3-2 win at Edgefold Club which narrows the gap down to just two points.
Two of the league's most fluent potters Sean Dobney and Ian McKay locked horns in the opener and it was the home team player who took the spoils with a 61-29 scoreline.
Tony Blant and Graham Jones then turned the game on its head for the Golfers, each with convincing victories before Rob Dicken levelled it at 2-2 courtesy of a 59-21 verdict in frame four.
But the two previous winners Blant and Jones were in uncompromising mood and took the deciding leg 49-24 to secure the victory.

Crich fell 4-1 at Bolehill Institute No 1, who are also now two points adrift, as Colin Marchington, Simon Zoppi and Ian Birks reeled off the opening three frames for the hosts to put the game beyond doubt. Nick Berry was right on cue for the pacesetters.

Elsewhere, Belper Strutt Club defeated Bolehill No 2 4-1 with Steve Bullock and Mark Newby setting the tone in the opening frames before Keith Robertson and Mark Sayer salvaged some late pride in the doubles leg.
