LAST SEASON'S CHAMPS TOPPLED BY PACESETTERS

CHARLIE HODGKINSON settled the issue for MATLOCK GOLF CLUB
CRICH COMRADES strengthened their position at the top of the T & M Motors Snooker League courtesy of a hard fought 3-2 success at last season's champs Belper Strutt Club to give themselves a four point buffer going into the next round of matches.
The home side took an early advantage thanks to Paul Jarrett's 64-45 verdict in the opener, but the two Ades, Smith and Lowe, gave the league leaders the edge with convincing victories in the next couple of frames.
Strutt hit back to equalise through Mark Newby but in the end the two Smiths, Ade and John, combined to excellent effect in the deciding doubles leg for a 76-45 triumph.

Crich's two nearest rivals, Matlock Golf Club and Bolehill No 1 met on Chesterfield Road and the hosts took the spoils also with a 3-2 scoreliine.
Ian McKay set the tone taking the first on a re-spotted black and Charlie Hodgkinson also with a black ball decision (though not in the pocket he aimed for!) settled the issue. Simon Zoppi was on target for the visitors.

Elsewhere, Edgefold returned to form as they conquered Matlock Club 4-1. Sean Dobney top scored whilst Dave Benson was the victor for the vanquished.
