IN one of the cross-over weeks where teams from separate divisions compete against each other, the big clash saw PJ'z Club No 1 of Ripley earn a narrow 3-2 home victory over Matlock Golf Club.
Andrew Gratton was star turn for the home side, amassing 90pts but most vital of all were the back-to-back black ball victories secured by John Smith and Lee Whatton to put the game to bed.
Tim Ducksbury top scored with 91pts for the visitors, withstanding a 29 break from Ben Monk in the process, and the two points gained by his team could yet prove crucial.
Another tasty clash saw Jaxx Q Club No 1 of Belper defeat Matlock's Edgefold Club 3-2 to take over the running in B Division by a single point.
Paul Ogden and Wade Morley won both frames they contested whilst Martyn Taylor top scored for the visitors.
Bolehill Institute No 1's 5-0 success over PJ'z No 2 therefore saw them leap back into second place in A Division, with Ricki Slack top scoring with 95pts including a 25 break.
The all-Bolehill battle sprung a minor surprise with the No 3 team edging out the No 2 team 3-2. Mick Bunting and Martin Forster were in fine form for the victors, winning both their singles and doubles frames while Keith Robertson regained his winning thread for the vanquished.
